This mushroom pan sauce features sautéed mushrooms cooked in the fond left in the pan after searing meat, combined with garlic and herbs for depth of flavor. The recipe takes about 15 minutes and serves 4.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken or beef broth
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or rosemary, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
